North led spadeQ from the dummy and ran it when West did not cover. When that held he crossed over to heartK and was pleased to see the 2-2 break, so he followed with another club ruff in the hope of another friendly break. When the clubs did not behave (East had four) was it to be a case of declarer hitting the floor?
