Our team-mates in the other room didn't have the 2heart bid available, and given the vulnerability were likely to be silent. Thus if the opposition reached a slam (probably 6spade), they weren't going to know much about the distribution, and were going just play clubA and clubK and go one off. But what if East had 1552 with the club queen? Then they make the contract and we'd go off. But if I played against the odds and cashed ace and king in clubs to 'cover' the oppostion, it should be a flat board, and given our lead in the match we should just about squeeze home..
