How much easier it would have been had declarer played heart4 towards dummy at trick five. The nine covers South's eight and on the next round of hearts North has to play the ace to prevent East's six becoming a winner. heartK becomes the vital tenth trick. Of course had North not stupidly played heart7 at trick one then declarer would have to find another, perfectly plausible, line . . . . .
