No, declarer should play heartA and a heart to the king at trick four. When South shows out he can be counted for a 4-1-4-4, 3-1-4-5, or a 4-1-3-5 shape - all the others do not fit the bidding. It must be right to draw the last trump and, if East is so minded, lead a diamond now. East ruffs the third round of diamonds to lead spadeQ. Whatever South does East must still read the situation correctly but, having unblocked heartA earlier, he will still have the required entry (in trumps) to return to hand for the other spade finesse.

Whatever East's culpability, South's error was much worse..
