Was youthful inexperience or brilliant judgement illustrated by North's failure to keep the bidding open? South's pass over 6spade was obviously unconditionally forcing, but in one way North was absolutely right to pass and not to double - 6spade was stone cold and the only trick conceded was taken by him and not his 2club opening partner!

But just imagine what might have happened ...
