PART TWO - DECLARER STRIKES BACK! Although declarer was born at night - it wasn't last night! He immediately saw through East's plan, and knew what was in store if he tried to draw trumps after winning the club return. So, he won the club in dummy, and instead of drawing trumps played a small diamond to the ace and a diamond back to the King. Next came the ten of diamonds - and when East covered with the Jack declarer countered by discarded his remaining spade! Now East had no way of getting back to West's hand to effect a club ruff.
