"At our table declarer pitched a diamond on the heartK, ruffed a heart, and finessed clubQ. On winning clubK what can West do? If he returns a club or a trump, declarer wins clubA, ruffs a heart, draws the last trump and endplays me with a club. So partner returned a diamond. At this point, declarer gave me a chance by putting up diamondK. All I had to do was win the Ace and underlead diamondQJ to put partner in for a club lead. I was not up to this, and woodenly continued diamonds. Declarer now ruffed and played trumps from the top, squeezing me at trick eleven."

So, can 3spade be beaten .....?
