After ruffing the spade in dummy, you should follow with a small diamond from dummy! South wins diamondK and continues with spadeQ. You should ruff high and come back to hand to draw the last trump. This is highly convenient because you are able to lead a club towards dummy's clubK - you are of course a good guesser! Had you ruffed spadeK low and followed with ace and another diamond, South's spadeQ would have locked you in dummy and forced you to concede two clubs for four off and -800 (-700 in those days).
