As you can see, 6spade cannot be broken, for a diamond lead creates a second parking space for North's club losers, whereas a club lead allows North to win the ace and dispose of the losing diamond on the fifth heart. 6heart can also be made - declarer wins the club lead in dummy, draws trumps and cashes four top spades. Crossing over with a trump, spade10 allows the club loser to be discarded

This is however likely to be incidental, for few pairs will bid and make a slam on this hand, so to lose only 500 in 5diamond is vital.
