West eventually led Kspade, and a broad grin came over North's face, but declarer was a troubled man. With West known to hold all the big cards, how would South obtain the necessary entries to hand? North's smug expression slowly dissipated during the next few minutes when it became obvious that South was actually contemplating playing low on the opening lead. Eventually the words "Small please" emerged, and an astonished but grinning West continued with a small trump. Winning with the heart7 in hand, South continued by ruffing out the clubA, returning to hand with the Ace of trumps, and cashing club winners. West could only follow helplessly while dummy's losing diamonds disappeared. North-South had scored +1430 and East-West had stopped giggling.
