While this was going on, East had noticed that the suit symbols were tattooed on the knuckles of South's right hand. Sensing the opportunity for a little gamesmanship to unsettle his opponent, East pointed to South's left hand and asked mockingly,

"Do you have No Trumps on that hand?! " East and West started to giggle but South indignantly proffered his left hand anyway. On the first two fingers were the letters "N" and "o".
"You need some more beginners lessons, " said South,
"there are never any trumps in No trumps".
