The Socialist Worker East -West were playing a super-light multi, and East lost no time in opening 2D, showing 0-2 points and a major suit of at least 6 cards. North-South, representing the Monster-Raving-Loony party, were playing their pet version of the MRL Bid-Out-Your-Shape (BOYS) system, whereby a bid of 1heart showed a singleton heart, 2club showed two clubs etc. No trumps were only bids when a) it was for take-out, or b) it was to play, or c) they were already too high to make a valid bid in a suit. According to their methods, South had two alternative bids - 2heart & 2spade, but chose 2heart to show preference. North replied 3spade and South bid 3NT to play. The rest of the bidding was purely N-S bidding out their shape.
