Double dummy analyser: makeable contracts
West North East South
4spade Dble Pass 5spade
Pass 6club Pass 6diamond
Pass 6heart End
At another table, I suspect that the North-South players had been sharing a bag of "E"s, for the bidding was turbo-charged. West opened 4spade, North doubled for take-out, and South offered a choice of slams by bidding 5spade. After swapping minor suit bids, they eventually settled in 6heart. Although East's diamondA crashed his partner's king at trick one, he knew what to lead next. N-S minus 50.
