CJ had a little joke on this board, but I'm afraid the oppo weren't amused. The CJ/CP system includes weak two bids in the majors, showing 5-9 with a six card suit. CJ probably felt he was "well above strength" at the vulnerability, but as it was the first board of the evening, he quietly opened 2heart for reasons of partnership harmony. CP went sensibly straight to game, possibly mindful of what might be lurking opposite.
