North-South were playing a heavily modified version of the aforementioned check-back convention (Mr. C. might sue). South opened 1heart and after a 1spade response decided that, despite having a perfectly respectable 2diamond bid available, 1NT would be an ideal rebid to show 13 cards and 13-17 points. North enquired with 2club and South bid 2diamond to show any minimum. North felt duty bound to bid 2heart and South felt he had shown his hand so 2heart was the final contract.

4heart is certainly no gimme, but it was reached at other tables and you might feel it was a reasonable shot, vulnerable at teams. How would you play 4heart on diamond9 lead?
