2club Pass 3club Pass
3spade
After a 2club - 3club - 3spade beginning then both players will be aware of each others primary suit, and will therefore be able to evaluate and upgrade their respective holdings accordingly. But is that East hand worth a positive 3club over a 2club opening? In my mind that would be a case for partnership discussion. It just goes to prove that bidding a pair hands has always been easier with the sight of 26 cards!

Finally, what grand slam offers the best chance?
