. . . would you adopt the same line after the same lead? I'm not so sure - take a look at this alternative layout. Although you would have gained a trick on the initial lead then the suggested line at IMPs would hand back the vital overtrick. When North wins the first diamond it would be a shame to spurn the diamond finesse at the next trick. This only costs when North has both heart honours and South diamondK.
