At the table South, a strong player, for once took his eye off the ball. He won the lead in hand and finessed clubQ, so East won and returned a second trump. Now declarer was in trouble, for the only way back to hand after cashing clubA was via a diamond ruff. When the clubs failed to break South could not draw all the remaining trumps and establish the long club, so he finished one light.
