Partner may not be too happy if he has a singleton diamond and you fail to give him a ruff, but can partner have a singleton diamond? Possible but hardly likely - North might have overcalled with 1diamond or bid 3diamond over his partner's responsive double. Nevertheless, partner cannot have very much and you need to get an extra trick from somewhere even assuming partner has clubA. So how do you defend?
