The play is equally interesting if East rises with clubA on the second round of clubs to play a third round of trumps. Although this kills the club ruff in dummy, South wins with spadeA and cashes a fourth trump. West will have to had to find two discards and is in fact squeezed in three suits. Unless he chooses to keep all his hearts and throw two diamonds declarer plays heartA, heartK, ruff a heart, exit with a low club. West is end-played and has to give South his two minor queens. If West judges well to throw two diamonds then his side are guaranteed two winners.
