No, nor would I, but presumably Arnaud's partner been reading articles on pre-balancing and obviously had the fullest confidence in Arnaud's card play. Arnaud mentioned in his letter that his RHO would be a little old lady in a few years (!) and I wonder if that influenced his choice of bid? Holding excellent values in the minors and a few useful heart spots Arnaud bid 4heart.
