The answer of course is that he shouldn't! With South known to have clubAK amongst his last three cards it's a no-brainer to cash heartA first in case South's singleton is the king!! Nevertheless West led heartJ and ran it when North played low - and this, remember, was IMPs scoring!

In a way, South received the result he really deserved ..
