East next cashed the two red aces - and thought to himself 'If the clubs break 2-1 it's only down one - thank you South for not leading a trump'. He crossed his fingers and played clubA, which held, noting the fall of the club ten from South. Phewwwww. Only one down. East then noticed a small chance to make the contract and quickly played club2 on which South discarded diamond9 allowing dummy to win with club9!!!! Needless to say, 4heart bid and made was not found at any of the other tables with most pairs managing to avoid the 3-2 heart fit, boringly preferring to play in a number of clubs or No Trumps. I'm sure 4 Hearts making should have been worth more than the minus 2.14 IMPs it scored, but it was worth missing the cold slam to make 4 hearts!!
