Despite having a combined total of only 16 working points North-South are cold for eleven tricks in hearts. East-West can be held to nine tricks in spades:- North wins the first heart and switches to club9. After cashing clubAQ South continues with a third club to promote a trump trick for North. The 1100 that North-South gained at the first table table was required to offset the 450 lost in heart contracts by the two opposition North-Souths. At the fourth table East-West got away with conceding only 50 in 5spade undoubled!
