Well a leap to 6NT would have been rewarded with +1440 - no lead can beat that contract. The only half decent grand slam is 7club - East will know that West's vulnerable overcall at the four level must include a very good six or seven card suit and to employ the GSF is a reasonable shot. Even on the trump lead (best) declarer can get home with the aid of the diamond finesse. On a spade lead declarer can throw a diamond on spadeA and play for the diamonds to be three-two - this also works.
