Although I have not followed all the various variations, it seems to me to be better for declarer if heartQ is played at trick one. Assuming East ruffs this and returns a trump or a diamond, South may be better placed for it is now no longer so attractive for West to continue hearts when he gets in with a club. This is a case for Deep Finesse, or perhaps your own exhaustive analysis. Any volunteers for some great thoughts?
