There's no real excuse for bidding - surely partner would have competed with 3spade if it had been possible.

Against 3heart partner leads a slightly surprising diamond10, but when you see dummy the reason becomes clearer. Dummy wins with diamondA, heartJ holds the next trick and then declarer plays a low spade from dummy. How do you defend when you win with the queen? Declarer plays the eight and partner the four.
