4heart Pass Pass Pass
North passed and led clubQ. South overtook to return a diamond for a ruff. After a spade to the ace and a second diamond ruff South still had clubA to cash for three off.

On balance it's usually better to bid on that type of North hand - even though it will mean the occasional -690 or -800. Agree?

One final poser for those with the South cards. Would you have passed or bid 4spade - or even 5club, over a double of 4heart?
