The winning line is play North for heartA and lead a small heart from hand. North wins and continues with top diamonds while South thows a heart, so West ruffs and leads another heart to flush out the ace. West ruffs the next diamond and is now able to cash heartK as South can only follow. His haul is five spades and one in each of the other suits.

Look what happened at the table. After winning the first four tricks with diamondA spadeAK clubA, declarer exited with a diamond. North continued diamonds and West ruffed. After cashing his remaining spade winners West eventually led a low heart to leave this position .
