At first glance it appears that the hand hinges on the club finesse. Are there any improvements on this to be found? Perhaps there was an extra chance. Take ace of diamonds, spadeA, ruff a spade with the nine, noting with interest East's play of spadeJ. jack of hearts to the queen, spade ruffed with the ten bringing down East's king. Now heartA and the carefully preserved three to dummy's seven in order to cash two spade winners discarding a diamond and club. This play proved worthwhile as the club finesse turned out to be wrong.

Nice one, Simon. Any comments ..?
