We will draw a veil over exactly how declarer came out for two down and a cold bottom, but having squeezed a small club out of West on the final spade, declarer can now play ace and a low club. This simultaneously sets up the clubs for one loser and throws West in to give declarer his twelfth trick, either the heartK (perhaps making this a 'stepping stone squeeze' in Kelsey/Ottlik parlance) or else a lead into the diamond tenace. Even better . West can defend brilliantly against this by throwing his clubK under the Ace. But it can be stated with confidence that such a play would never have occurred to this particular West.
