West led a low diamond, dummy played the nine and East won to switch to heartK, ducked as before. Declarer won heartA at the next trick and, when East showed out on the first spade, South cashed spadeAK and used dummy's club entries to eliminate hearts. A third round of trumps put West on lead to concede a ruff and discard. Nice play and ten tricks, but the bidding had already lost the board.
