I would have expected better hearts for the actual sequence - is it not the modern style to overcall on such hands? Obviously not for this pair, as I would have thought South's 2club is also marginal - he could be making this bid on spade10xx heart7x diamond 9xx club9xxxx. 2club looks like the bid of a conservative match-points player!
