1spade Pass 2spade ???
To answer this question, we must try to construct partner's hand type. We can consider how many spades he holds: the opponents have bid and raised... so they hold eight or more - you have one, hence, partner has between 0 and 4 spades. If zero to two, they will bid again rather than defend, so your bid may pave the way for a sacrifice. If three, he may have a useful card or two - but if he has only a doubleton diamond, the worst shape (for you) would be 3-5-2-3. But NV, what is the downside if he has nothing? They may even have a slam, especially given that your stiff spadeK is sitting under the 1spade opener. If the absolute worst scenario is in play, and you end up in a 6-2 diamond fit, with a 4-1 break, you still figure to make four or five tricks, getting two or three spade ruffs, and maybe a heart ruff or two.
