After ruffing high, running spadeJ and picking up your trumps declarer might contemplate a squeeze, but because you have retained parity in heart and club length with dummy, it's table that feels the pressure on the run of the spades before you do. This assumes that South does not do anything daft like throwing two early hearts, otherwise East can get home on a trump squeeze by throwing heart9 from dummy.

It is not my intention to publish many of these theoretical brilliancies - has anyone actually seen a valid under-ruff at the table?
