Frimann's plan was to be to finesse diamond10, take diamondQ, come back to hand and throw the clubs on diamondAK, and then ruff a club. He therefore needed two entries to hand in the heart suit while still leaving at least one heart in dummy for the ruff. He took clubA at trick one and cashed the ace of hearts, on which East played the six and West the jack.. On heart3 from dummy East played the eight. If South put on the queen and West showed out then declarer would be short of one entry for his plan but if the hearts were two-two another entry would be available with the nine. Alternatively, if West's heartJ was a singleton, it would be right to finesse. How do you continue?
