At the table North must have been worried about a 2heart bid being construed as a "reverse". because he rebid 3club. The general rule is that over a jump shift from partner you rebid what you were going to rebid over a non-shift response, albeit at a higher level. Here, 2heart would have been perfectly in order.

Anyway, over 3club partner bid 3spade and you, quite understandably, bid 3NT. Partner now bids 4NT. How do you take this?
