. . . that has some interesting sidelines. Imagine West starts off with a heart - the likely defence. South ruffs and concedes a club, another heart ruff, another club conceded. When the defence lead a third heart South throws his losing diamond in order to avoid losing control, but a fourth round of hearts lands on the table. To make the contract South must ruff high in dummy, cross to hand with diamondA, ruff a club high and return to hand via a trump finesse of spade9! Hair-raising indeed.
