South read the situation correctly by leading a heart, the three, but now North went wrong by winning with the ace and continuing with the jack. Declarer covered with dummy's queen and the defensive club ruff had evaporated. West made nine tricks and +530.

Obviously North made a bad mistake here, but South could have made life so much easier by leading heartK and then a small one to her partner's ace. This would leave North little option to revert back to clubs. Any comments ....?
