North will almost certainly have a doubleton heart, so when South leads a third round West should throw a losing club instead of ruffing high! The problem with this latter action is that there may still remain both trump and club losers. By discarding, West ensures that he will be able to win the next trick without compromising his trump holding - a fourth round of hearts could be taken in dummy if necessary.
