Looking at yet another load of garbage, you wearily pass and hear the bidding start on your left with 1spade. After partner doubles RHO raises to 3spade and it takes no effort to pass again. LHO passes and partner reopens with 3NT.

Now it is time to put in a little thought. Has partner a 1-3-5-4 or 1-3-4-5 shape, or is 3NT to play?
