Pass Pass Pass
South won the diamond with the jack and played a heart to the queen and another back to the ace. When West threw a club declarer cashed clubK and began the diamonds. East ruffed the third round and, for some reason best understood by herself, exited with heartJ! This enabled declarer to draw the last trump and enjoy the remaining diamonds - ten tricks. If East switches to a spade after ruffing the diamond then declarer is finished. Unable to draw trumps immediately because of the blockage, she must concede another trick to heartJ. The best result occurred for North-South where North passed over 3club .
