Again South cashes heartAQ and switches to a diamond. If West does decide to "safety-play" the clubs then once again South reawakens his dormant hearts and once again West goes off.

Of course, South could also try the boring defence - win heartQ and switch to a spade at trick two - but then we'd all do that wouldn't we? We wouldn't be tempted to cash all four hearts and then switch to a spade, thereby allowing West to make 3NT on a black suit squeeze ........ would we?
