Look at South's predicament in the end-game when declarer ruffs a club in the East hand - whatever he throws is fatal! If he throws a red card it establishes a winner in dummy and if he under-ruffs then you can safely return to hand for the last club.

Back in 1970 Mrs. Warner's three-suited-squeeze-including-trumps was in the more modest contract of 4diamond - and that was for the overtrick. Her brilliant line did not land much of a reward. Maybe she won't remember.
