Well, I should have played a club at trick two, beginning the entry-building process early. Imagine East wins and switches to a heart, so declarer can now win and duck another club. East cannot profitably attack hearts so he reverts to diamonds and now declarer has the tempo to force out spadeA, win the next heart and cash his nine winners however the defence goes.
