It's too late now! Of course North should unblock spadeK under West's ace, thereby creating a sure entry to the South hand for a diamond through declarer's vulnerable holding. Either that, or if West decides to abandon spades to attack hearts, then North has the necessary entries to establish diamonds.

Incidentally, I wonder if North would have ducked had declarer led a low spade at trick two? We'll never know.
