I would find it difficult to open 1spade with this hand, as did the Canadian West in a previous World Championship. That ended the bidding . the contract did not go off.

They were playing a variety of Strong Club in the other room and they powered into game - or at least West did! You could imagine a similar sequence in Acol:
2club-2diamond-2spade-2NT-3club-3diamond-3heart-3spade-4spade-End.
