This latter line was the winning one at the table. The real point of the hand, though is to note that by ducking the heartK, East has given declarer the chance to go wrong. If he wins it, an automatic squeeze develops. As my learned correspondent says, it is hard to refuse a trick against a slam, but often worth it if you can't see where another trick is coming from.
