. . . although this destroys the double squeeze, declarer can still get home. He wins and plays similarly to above except that he has to assume for East has a singleton heart and/or a doubleton spade. Only one round of trumps is played and this gives declarer the necessary manoeuvrability to ruff three diamonds in the dummy, cash his second spade winner and finally come to hand to draw the remaining trumps and win diamondK. Thirteen tricks!
