This exquisite ending (for South!) only suffers from the flaw that it requires East to misdefend. Instead of being discouraged by seeing his partner show out and hoping for spade tricks, had East retained all his hearts - or even underled his spadeA at trick nine - the timing for the squeeze would have been wrong.
